June 29 is Fifth Wednesday, and the Ladies Committee will be serving dinner in the gym. Come between 5:30 and 7 pm for pulled BBQ Chicken sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, dessert, and tea or water for only $6 per adult plate and $3 per child’s plate (12 years and younger). Funds raised will benefit Mother’s Memorial.
The Children’s Choir will be singing for 5th Wednesday. Parents, please bring your children to church by 6:30 pm for rehearsal and sound check. Practice will be in the sanctuary.
Vesper is Latin for “evening.” Christians have referred to evening prayer services as vesper services for centuries. On July 6, 13, 20, and 27, we will have special prayer services during our regularly scheduled service times on Wednesdays. These services will be times of focused, guided prayer with a different emphasis each week. These services will be times for us to join our faith in prayer with fellow believers and to believe God for His miraculous intervention. Come expecting miracles!
On July 11-15 at PandaMania VBS, kids will explore a bamboo forest full of fun-loving pandas! Psalm 139 will come to life as kids learn that they are God’s most precious creation. In return, kids will learn to give thanks to God for all He does. We’ll be exploring each night from 6:30-9:30 pm. Register online at www.newlifeupc.org/vacation-bible-school-2011. VBS is for children 4 years old (by September 1, 2011) through those who finished 5th grade in the spring 2011.

What a wonderful day we had last Sunday! Although many people were out of town, we had a breakthrough day! I believe the Lord is positioning us to step into the next phase of revival!
Today we are pleased to have Akil and Sarah Thompson. We are praying together with them to see if they are the ones to assume the role of youth pastor here at New Life. They bring a wealth of ministry experience, and we welcome them to join us in worship today. If you have feedback or would like to discuss their visit, please feel free to contact me.

Today is Father’s Day, and we would like to congratulate and thank all of our fathers. Fathers play an invaluable role in families, society, and in our church.
Since the Simmonses have assumed the pastorate of the Hutto church, we have begun the search for a youth pastor. I am working closely with our Church Board to find qualified candidates. We are seeking the best-qualified candidate who can lead our youth program to the next level. Some candidates will be capable of doing additional work in administration and pastoral care. Our first candidate, Akil Thompson, will be here next weekend. We have tried to create a process which allows the candidates to interact in a variety of settings. It is important for our youth, parents, and staff to take advantage of these opportunities.
Here is the process:
