Last Sunday was tremendous with 4 being filled with the Spirit, 4 being baptized, and 2 testifying of healing. We were greatly blessed Wednesday night as well. Let us continue in faith, believing God for a miraculous outpouring of His Spirit.

Our building program is progressing well. Please continue to pray for the project to stay on schedule, the safety of the workers, sustained finances, and the closing of the sale of our existing building.

I have asked Sister Kinney to address some topics which will assist individuals and families and will help equip those who want to help others. Beginning August 9, she will be teaching a class on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. The class is open to everyone and will cover a variety of topics. The first week she will discuss Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder in children and adults. Other topics include depression, anxiety, and self-defeating behaviors. (A complete list of topics is forthcoming.) Sister Kinney is a licensed psychologist with a doctorate in counseling psychology. If you would like to attend please R.S.V.P. to the church office at 512-832-5433. If you have questions about the class please contact Sister Kinney by e-mail at jmkinney3@att.net or by phone at 512-983-6875.

Evangelist Luke Levine is with us today in both services. If you need to receive a miracle or be filled with the Spirit, today is your day!

Wednesday night will be our final vesper service of the summer. It will be a healing service. We will be praying for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing. Invite a guest.

Our junior Bible quizzers are at the national tournament in Branson, Missouri. If you would like to help sponsor them, you can make a contribution designated for “Quizzing.”

Last Sunday night we elected Akil Thompson to the office of assistant pastor. The Thompsons will be here in late August. We will be paying for their moving expenses. If you would like to give an offering to help with this, mark your contribution “Akil Thompson.”

We had another tremendous Vacation Bible School last week. We had another record enrollment and several received the Spirit. Many were renewed including workers and staff. I would like to express appreciation to Michael and Norma Frances and all the volunteers for a wonderful week of ministry to our kids. The children will be singing in our morning service.

Next Sunday Evangelist Luke Levine will be with us. This is a time for us to focus our faith for the miraculous. If you need to receive the Holy Spirit or need a miracle, come expecting to receive. Invite a friend to attend with you.

We will vote on Akil Thompson tonight. If elected, Brother Thompson will serve as assistant pastor with an immediate focus on youth ministry. He and his wife, Sarah, will be responsible to lead our youth ministry as well as other duties as assigned by me. One goal will be to recruit a youth staff from within our church. They also may recruit additional youth workers from outside our church in consultation with me. Even as more youth workers are recruited, the Thompsons will have oversight to make sure the youth ministry flourishes. They may not always be in hands-on youth ministry, but they will ensure we have adequate staff and ministries.

The qualifications for voting members as stated in our Bylaws can be summarized as follows: Voting members are those who are sixteen years old or older, have been baptized in Jesus’ name and filled with the Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, endeavor to live a holy life, are faithful in attendance, and support the church with tithes and offerings as God enables. These requirements are more clearly described in the Guidelines for Leadership and Public Ministry.
