Pastor Akil Thompson
After a successful fifteen-year tenure in corporate banking, Akil decided to pursue his God-given call into full-time ministry. Following years of rewarding and fruitful pastoral ministry in the central Virginia area, Pastor Thompson and his family responded to the God-call to come to Austin, Texas. Pastor Thompson is integrally involved in teaching, preaching, administration, publicity, and youth ministry at New Life.
Over the years Pastor Thompson has amassed almost fourteen years of ministerial experience, and in 1998 his life became truly bigger, better, louder, and stronger than before: he met the love of his life, Sarah! Since then, and in true God style, they have empowered and inspired thousands of people to change their world for God.

His passion is turned on by technology, music, reading, writing, and great food. For Pastor Thompson, life is so much more than living. It's a journey with Jesus through and through. Being genuine!
