Who We Are
Our Vision
We seek to evangelize and equip people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, in spirit and truth, for the glory of God.
New Life Church exists to glorify God through authentic worship and the proclamation of His Word and seeks to provide a place for everyone to come to know and experience Jesus Christ for themselves in the power of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God loves everyone and that everyone is therefore important, and so we've striven to create an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome and comfortable to worship God with us.
If you were to walk into one of our services and look around at the people present, you would probably be struck by the different kinds of people there. You would probably see someone like you! Our congregation is composed of people of various races, ethnic origins, nationalities, ages, and social backgrounds. We are different in many ways, but we are united as a community by a common experience of the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.
The diversity of people in our congregation is reflected in the diversity of ministries at New Life. There is a place for everyone to be a part, but more importantly to be involved and to make a difference. We firmly believe that people are most happy and fulfilled when they have discovered God's purpose for their lives and are actively pursuing it. And we are committed to helping everyone find their purpose and uncover the gifts that God has given them to serve Him and to bless others.
Our History
Our church began in April 1992 in the home of David and Connie Bernard with eleven people. In May 1992 we began sharing the building of Faith Community Church. By September 1996, we had purchased property and completed construction of a facility which seated 300. In May 2000 a new sanctuary was completed which seats 800. We've continued to grow, and in November 2006 we purchased 10.5 acres at Mopac and Century Park in northwest Austin for the construction of a new building.
New Life Church currently has approximately 880 constituents and 390 family units and is affiliated with the United Pentecostal Church International, which has a worldwide constituency of more than 4 million in over 32,000 congregations in 177 countries.
Reaching Out
We're genuinely excited about what God is doing at New Life, but we want God to do great things all over the Austin area, Texas, the United States, and around the world–and we want to be a part of what He's doing elsewhere! And so we are actively involved in starting other churches in the Austin metropolitan area and in surrounding towns. We have started fourteen daughter churches, four of which have become autonomous sister churches.
We also support missions programs in the United States and abroad, including humanitarian needs, construction of churches, and Bible colleges. We currently support 328 missionaries in 181 countries with monthly offerings and prayer. New Life also sponsors ministerial training seminars, which Pastor Bernard teaches around the world.
Come and visit us during any of our services. We would love for you to experience new life!
