We had a great back-to-school service last Sunday night! Hopefully everyone is settling back into their routines. This is a great time to renew consecrations and make sure you have regular times of prayer, fasting, and Bible reading in your schedule.

We are currently in our twenty-one days of prayer and fasting for our revival. Take time to intercede for our revival services. Please remember to pray for the sale of our building when you pray.

We have special revival services scheduled with Michael Easter on September 15, 17, and 19. These services will focus on healing, deliverance, miracles, and Spirit baptism. If you need a miracle, please come expecting. If you need to receive the Holy Spirit, or know someone who does, this is the time!

Monday, August 23, we will begin 21 days of prayer and fasting to prepare for these services. Everyone is encouraged to pray daily for our special services. Additionally, please join the following corporate prayer meetings when possible: 30 minutes before evening services in the prayer rooms; Friday night prayer meetings, from 8 pm to 10 pm in the sanctuary; and a special all-church prayer meeting on Wednesday, September 8. Pray for the following: the free-flowing move of God's Spirit, for God to lead you to people who need Him, for the effectiveness of our advertising campaign, and for those who have known the Lord but who are not living for Him.

Everyone is also encouraged to participate in regular fasting during this time. It is recommended that everyone who is able take one day of fasting each week during these three weeks. Others may want to fast more.

Last Sunday night, small commitment cards were passed out that provide room for three names to be listed. Each person was asked to write down the names of three people they would invest in by praying for them, sharing their testimony with them, and inviting them to church. If you did not receive a card, they are available in the foyer.

We will have special services with Evangelist Michael Easter on September 15, 17, and 19. These services will focus on healing, deliverance, and Spirit baptism. I will share more with you tonight on how we can prepare for these special services. Please be in prayer about these services.

We will continue our series on spiritual fruit this Wednesday night. I want to thank you for your faithfulness to attend Wednesday nights. Faithfulness to Bible study and the regularly scheduled services of the church is a key to spiritual success. Worship, hearing the preached and taught Word of God, and fellowship give us the spiritual and emotional strength needed to be victorious.

I also want to thank you for the good charity offering that was received last Sunday evening. Your giving will go to help several families who are in need. One person testified of receiving a gift of three times what she gave in the offering. It is a joy to give!

We are having a blessed summer. Our Wednesday night services are being attended very well, and there is a sense of expectancy about what God is doing. If you have not been present on Wednesday evenings, I would like to encourage you to attend as I teach a series of lessons on the fruit of the Spirit. If we are truly followers of Jesus, there will be evidence of this in our lives. If we are truly alive spiritually, there will always be spiritual fruit. Join us as we explore the specific virtues and characteristics that the Holy Spirit cultivates in the lives of those who walk in the Spirit, and he will also discuss how we play a crucial role in this process as we prepare the right conditions for the Spirit to work in our lives.

This is the time of year when some of our college students leave and when our children and youth prepare to return to school. Please keep them in your prayers.

Please be in prayer for our upcoming revival, September 15, 17, and 19. Be thinking of who you can invite. It will be a week of miracles!

Contribution statements for the second quarter have been mailed. Take this opportunity to review your statement for accuracy. If you did not receive a contribution statement, we either do not have a record of your giving or we do not have your correct mailing address. Please contact the church office with any questions.

I want to encourage everyone to attend our Wednesday night services when possible. Wednesdays are typically devoted to teaching. Accordingly, Wednesday attendance is important for our spiritual growth. Our recent Wednesday attendance has been outstanding, to which I say Thank you! This Wednesday night we will begin a series on spiritual fruit.

It is not too soon to begin praying for our fall revival. Let’s bind together and believe God for great things!

Our summer services have been blessed by the Lord, and I am confident today will be no different. Open your heart and allow the presence of God to refresh and renew you. If you are in need of a miracle, believe that God hears when we pray.

Our junior quizzers are at the national junior quizzing tournament in St. Louis this week. Please pray for their safety and that they will quiz well. These trips are expensive, so if you would like to make a donation to the quiz fund, please mark your offering accordingly.

August 1 we will begin a Spanish language Sunday school class. Israel and Maura Medina will be leading the class, so if you would like to be in the class or know someone who would, please contact the Medinas. The class will meet at 10 am in the room adjacent to the kitchen.

Our Children’s Ministry conducted a fantastic vacation Bible School last week. We registered over 200 children—a new record—and several received the Holy Spirit and were renewed in the Holy Spirit. VBS is one of the highlights each year, and our Children’s Ministry staff does an excellent job. We appreciate the dedication of all the workers and coordinators. Special thanks goes to Priscilla Reid for directing the event.

We concluded our mid-summer vesper services last Wednesday night with a stirring time of prayer. Let us maintain a consistent habit of prayer. In addition to personal times of prayer, the prayer rooms are open before evening services. Everyone is encouraged to attend at least one Friday-night prayer meeting per month.

Vacation Bible School is this week. We always have a tremendous time during VBS. Please note that the entire building will be used for VBS during the week. For the safety of our children and organization of the event, we ask that only approved workers are with the children. Crew leaders and other VBS workers cannot be distracted by friends who are not approved workers. There will be a designated gathering place for friends and family members. Everyone is welcome to join in the grand finale each night at 9:00 pm in the sanctuary.

This Wednesday night we will have the last of our mid-summer vesper services. These prayer services have been blessed by the presence of the Lord. Please come expecting God to do great things!

Today is Independence Day for the United States of America. We should take time to give thanks to God for the liberties we enjoy. We should also take time to pray for our country and its leaders. We need a nation-wide revival.

Recognizing the tradition of celebrating Independence Day, we will have an abbreviated service tonight. Tonight’s service will be a time of praise and worship featuring a variety of singers. Afterward, Family Ministry is organizing a gathering at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock to view fireworks. Dress for the evening service is casual.

I am on vacation this week. If you need pastoral care please contact the church office. We have several ministers available for pastoral care, and Pastor Bernard will be available in some instances.

Last week we concluded our Why series: Why I Am a Christian and Why I Am a Pentecostal, Parts 1 & 2. DVDs and CDs are available for these series and are available to purchase at the bookstore in the foyer.

The next three Wednesday nights we will have our Mid-Summer Vespers. These are special prayer services where we will be focusing on specific needs each night, believing God for victory. Come to these meetings expecting a miracle! We also have prayer on Friday nights from 8:00 - 10 pm. Let us press on for revival!

Next Sunday is July 4. Pastor Bernard will be preaching Sunday morning. Sunday night will be a one-hour service featuring special singing and worship. Those interested in seeing fireworks afterward can join Family Ministry at Old Settlers Park.
