Parking Reminder

Vacation Bible School 2008

This year’s VBS will be Power Lab. Come be a part of amazing crafts, wacky snacks, mind blowing Bible stories, hyper speed games, and incredible music. Mark your calendars for June 23-27 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Registration will be May 14-June 1 for children ages 4 (by September 12) to 12. Register by June 1 to get a t-shirt and gift. Synergy Meeting

Blue Sunday

Blue Sunday is a national day of prayer for abused children. In 2007 Texas confirmed more than 71,344 victims of child abuse and neglect. The Family Ministry class has committed this week to pray for these children. Please join us today in prayer for these children and for the families of New Life who have opened their homes in love to foster abused children.

  • Three youth from our Hutto daughter work received the Holy Spirit in our recent youth revival, including a cousin of the pastor’s wife, Junah Latham.
  • One received the Holy Spirit in our jail service in Taylor, led by Roy Celis.
  • Angel Williams, daughter of Alberta Wilson, was renewed in the Holy Spirit.
  • Centro de Vida (Life Center) of Gonzalez, LA, pastored by Elton Bernard, started a church in Copetillo, El Salvador, in 2005, and paid for the construction of a building. Elton Bernard, age 77 and father of our pastor, preached the dedication service last week. There were 500 in attendance, including 200 from neighboring United Pentecostal churches, and 8 received the Holy Spirit.

Outreach

  • The Act of Kindness Ministry is seeking donations for care packages for the homeless. Travel-size tooth paste; snacks, e.g. crackers, pudding, etc.; and deodorant are needed. Please give your donations to Jim Hogg, Joann Hogg, or Jerome Williams.
  • The Outreach Ministry needs volunteers for the visitation team. The visitation team conducts home visits to visitors who attend our services. If interested see Jerome Williams.

Quiz-a-Thon

Please help our Beginner and Junior Bible quizzing teams by sponsoring them in the upcoming quiz-a-thon. Our children will be quoting between 140 and 200 verses. Sponsors can pledge an amount per verse or make a one-time pledge that will be due in May. Please see Janet Kinney for more details.

  • Approximately 1,200 people visited our Springfest, making it our most successful outreach ever.
  • Lynne Dickie, a first-time visitor, was baptized and received the Holy Spirit. She heard a radio broadcast by Irvin Baxter and decided to find a Pentecostal church.
  • Last Sunday, the following children received the Holy Spirit: Rilyn Fruzia, Chloe Froese, Brianna Montez, and one from our Spanish daughter work.
  • We set two new attendance records in March. Average Sunday morning attendance for the month was 613. Average Sunday attendance including daughter works and outreaches was 967.

Preparing for Marriage seminar

Plan now to attend a morning of preparing for marriage as you prepare for your wedding. The seminar is on Saturday, April 26, 9 a.m. till noon. Breakfast will be served. The sessions are for engaged couples and newly married couples. For more information, contact Rod and Jan Madden.

Singles

Great things are happening in the New Life Singles Ministry! We’ve increased, so the ministry will be dividing into two groups for social functions. Singles 1 events (25-35) will be held on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Singles 2 events (36 and up) will be held on the 4th Saturday of the month. Olga Hernandez & Ben Kobasic will be assisting us with the Singles 1 events. Join us monthly for a great time of fellowship!

  • Andrew Dumas, son of John and Regena Dumas, was baptized and received the Holy Spirit.
  • Ron Bess, coworker of Alberta Wilson, received the Holy Spirit.
  • Melissa Harris, the sister of Juliet Lindsey and a pastor’s wife in Arlington, TX, was thought to have cancer, but after prayer the mass disappeared.
  • Burnet, TX: Pastor James East, formerly our youth director, reported that a teenage girl was healed of muscular dystrophy. He also reported 97 in Easter attendance.
  • La Ward, TX: Pastor Mike Williams, formerly our youth director, reported 70 in Easter attendance.
  • Tempe, AZ: Pat Bass, a minister from our church, has started a home friendship group. His wife, Grace, recently authored Daniel’s Fast Cookbook, for which Barnes & Noble has placed an order. Their daughter Anna, age 10, had some artwork placed in the 2008 calendar for cystic fibrosis. The Lord touched her as a small child in our church, and she became free from the symptoms of this serious disease.

Springfest

Children’s Ministry Training

There will be training on Saturday, April 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gym for those currently working with or those who want to work with our children. Mom’s Day Out

Registration for the 2008-2009 school year begins Tuesday, March 25, for currently enrolled families. Open registration will begin Tuesday, April 1. New life Leadership Institute

On March 25, New Testament Survey begins. The course will cover the background, context, authorship, theme, and basic message of each of the 27 books of the New Testament. LifeConnections(20s)/LifeCore(30s) Skate Night

Come and join us, Tuesday, March 11, at Round Rock Roller Rink on Highway 620 from 7 to 9 p.m. $5 admission includes skate rental. The snack bar will be available for refreshments. For more details, please visit the Families Ministry webpage.

Temple Keepers (Ladies)

  • Following service tonight there will be a meeting in the front of the sanctuary for all ladies attending LUV 2008.

Fusion

Youth Discipleship class starts today at 5:00 p.m. in the corner room of the gym. This is a four-week class for Junior High and Senior High youth who have repented, been baptized, and/or received the Holy Spirit in the last six months. Other youth who would like a refresher course on the new birth are welcomed to join the class as well.

Outreach

  • The Act of Kindness Ministry is accepting donations (disposable razors, travel-size deodorant, tooth paste, tooth brushes, and snack- size cans of potted meat) for care packages for distribution to the homeless. Please bring your donations to Jim and Joann Hogg or Jerome and Debra Williams.
  • If you are interested in volunteering for Outreach (visitation, street evangelism, nursing home, jail ministry), please contact Jerome Williams, outreach director, for more information. Come join us!
