Parent Orientation

Parents of children entering the youth group or new members with students entering the youth group are invited to attend a parent orientation meeting today after morning worship service in the men’s prayer room. This will be an informative session led by youth pastor, Akil Thompson.

Jr. High Ladies (7th & 8th Grades)

The Jr. High Ladies are going to Zilker Park on Wednesday, July 4, from 10 am to noon for brunch and games. Dress up in your best American attire. A prize will be given for the most creative and most American outfit. Please bring a brunch food, or $6 to chip in, a picnic blanket, and any games you would like to play. Young Families (20s and 30s)

The Young Families group is meeting after service on Wednesday, July 4, for fireworks at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock in front of the last paved parking lot. Bring your own blankets, chairs, food, drinks, bug spray, and flash lights. Contact Josh and Christina Grooms for more details.

[re]GENERATION (Youth Ministry) Activities

Thursday, July 5, from 11:30 am to 2 pm, the guys and girls are having their own swim parties. Guys will be at the Curries’ home. Girls will be at the Dammans’ home. Bring your swimwear, change of clothes, and a towel.
Friday, July 6, at 7 pm is a Fast Food Friday, a progressive dinner that will lead you to a variety of fast food restaurants throughout northwest Austin. Suggested spending money is $10.

Hyphen (Young Adults 18-24)

Saturday, July 7, at 1 pm, Hyphen will be getting together at the Curries’ home for a classic summer cookout of burgers, hot dogs, chicken, and fixings. Please bring a drink and a side dish or dessert to share. Please RSVP to Kathy Currie.

Men’s Study

The Men’s Ministry study will meet at 7:30 pm on Tuesday evenings through August 7 in the men’s prayer room. Jerome Williams will be teaching on “The Toolbox for Spiritual Growth” from the Book of Isaiah. Contact Ron Russell for details.

Ladies’ Study

Ladies’ Ministry will begin a series on how to study the Bible at 7 pm on Tuesday, July 24. This study will use Eat This Book by Melani Shock. Ladies will need to purchase the study guide and journal designed for this course. The cost will be $15 per person. Register with Regina Noble by July 8.

STX Kids Camp

STX Kids Camp is July 30 through August 2 in Kerrville, TX. Kids Camp is for children ages 8 to 11 years old. Early registration is only $155 through July 22. Registration forms can be picked up at the Kids Connect table or are available on the district website at stxupci.com/kids-camp-2012-face-2-face. Contact Norma Frances for details.

  • Two were baptized in Jesus’ name at our Manchaca daughter work.
  • Rebecca Torres and her children were recently kept safe from a potentially life threatening car accident while traveling out of town.
  • Jim and Patricia Hall were kept safe from harm as a car spun out of control around their vehicle several times.
