"They all joined together constantly in prayer" (Acts 1:14).

A hallmark of the early church was that they frequently joined together in prayer–and God moved powerfully in their midst as a result. One thing that we will always emphasize is the crucial role that prayer and other spiritual disciplines play in making us strong spiritually, and Friday All-Church Prayer is one way–an excellent way!–to pray more and to be strengthened with fellow believers.

Come join together with us in prayer on Friday, May 18, in the sanctuary from 8-10 pm (come & go).
Children are a significant part of our church, and it is with great joy that we dedicate several children to the Lord today. By dedicating these children, we are made aware of our communal obligation to maintain a church culture that is conducive for the spiritual growth of our children.

Tonight we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper. This is a tremendous celebration of the victory won by Jesus Christ on our behalf. It is a time for personal reflection, faith, and transformation.

</ br>
Today we are thankful to have Evangelist Doug Klinedinst with us. We have been blessed by his ministry, and we look forward to what the Lord will do today.

May 6 we will begin a children’s ministry session each Sunday morning at 10:00 am. This will provide ministry directed to our children, and it will give parents an opportunity to see the kind of ministry our children typically receive in Sunday school.

Contribution statements will be mailed this week. Please review your statement for accuracy and take time to prayerfully reflect on your stewardship. Proportionate giving (tithing) is a biblical principle we teach and practice. Additionally, from a practical standpoint, it is logical that we support what benefits us; so if we receive benefits from the church, we should support the church.
"And Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you'" (Luke 22:19-20).

On Sunday, April 29, during our evening service, New Life we be focusing on Christ's sacrifice for us as we celebrate communion.

Communion is a profound experience of remembering what Jesus did for us on the Cross and of communing with Him and receiving a special touch of His grace and presence through partaking of the bread and cup.

Communion is always a beautiful experience for the church. Don’t miss it!

</ br>
We rejoice in the blessings of God! Last Sunday we had a great day. There were many visitors, and we had a great attendance, our third-highest ever. Our total attendance for the day was 911. (We had 959 on Easter 2010 and 933 on Easter 2008.) There is still a revival brewing! This is our time to press forward and see what God will do!

During our transition, faithfulness and unity are crucial. We all have to take extra measures not only to make sure we are staying connected, but to make sure we are connecting others. Accordingly, I urge us all to faithfulness to our regularly scheduled services and to the social and other events that are scheduled.

We have rescheduled Vacation Bible School for July 23-27. Online registration is available at www.newlifeaustin.com/vacation-bible-school-2012. We trust this will give us time to get into our new building.
