From Pastor Bernard 11/22

Posted in From the Pastors on Sunday, November 22nd, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving! Let’s thank God for the many blessings He has given us, and let’s spend time with family and friends. We want everyone in our church to be able to celebrate this holiday, and we don’t want anyone to be alone during this time.

Pastor Rodney Shaw will be ministering in our morning service today. In 2010, he and I will share the preaching responsibilities on Sundays, and he will take primary responsibility for the services on Wednesday nights.

Tonight we will have a guest speaker, Carlton Coon. He is the general director of Home Missions for the United Pentecostal Church International. His job involves the promotion of church planting in the United States and Canada. You will appreciate his ministry.

We have a new pastor for our daughter work in Hutto, Christopher Calk from Houston. He is the son of Jan Madden and the brother of Danielle Parks. He and his wife, Misty, will assume their new responsibilities as of next Sunday. Please pray that God will provide employment and supply their needs during and after this transition.

We have appointed Janet Kinney as the director of our Bible quizzing program. She has already been leading this ministry under the direction of Greg Starks, but now she will assume direct responsibility. This change will enable Brother Starks to devote more attention to the Discipleship Ministry, of which he is the director.

Please continue to pray for our building program. We are actively negotiating for the sale of our current building, so we need to pray for success. If we are able to reach an agreement, we will present it to the church for approval.
