Study of 1 Corinthians

On May 4 Pastor Shaw will begin a study of 1 Corinthians in the Adult Sunday school class.

The classes will be held Sundays at 10:00 a.m. in the main auditorium.

The First Epistle to the Corinthians covers as wide a range of topics as any New Testament book. Due to the problems in the church, Paul wrote about church government, morality, spiritual gifts, and doctrine. As a church situated in a first-century Greco-Roman culture, they struggled with a wide range of issues including prostitutes, the resurrection, incest, spiritual gifts, litigation, divorce, drunkenness, the Lord’s Supper, and internal division.

This class will evaluate 1 Corinthians historically, theologically, and pragmatically.
