Committees
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee will make recommendations for an approach to managing construction (design/build, general contractor, construction management, etc.), select a firm for this purpose, and select an architectural designer for master planning. The committee will be expanded to form other committees and serve as the central, executive committee for the building program. Urgent decisions and decisions that need to be made between the meetings of other committees will be handled by the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee can make any modifications or additional decisions as needed. The committee will make recommendations to the Church Board as needed.

Master Plan Committee
Committee will develop a master plan in conceptual form, including basic ideas for the proposed building or buildings, phases, elevations, basic site plan, and basic floor plan. The committee will work with an architectural designer to evaluate growth trends and ways to maximize the property for long-term growth.

Site and Building Plans Committee
Committee will work with a civil engineer to develop the site plan and with an architectural designer to develop the building plans. Input will be taken from various subcommittees as needed.

Subcommittees
Subcommittee for Audio, Video, and Stage Lighting
Committee will select and work with a contractor to design and build audio, video, and stage lighting systems consistent with the worship style of New Life. Consideration will be given to acoustics, sound reinforcement systems, video projection, video capture, and versatile lighting. Recommendations will be made for the main sanctuary, chapel, and children’s worship space. Other areas, like the foyer and “cry room,” will be evaluated as well.

Subcommittee for Computer Technology
Committee will evaluate computer technology systems and particularly how these systems should be integrated into the architecture. This includes networking, cabling, Internet connectivity, security, and any other issues related to a computer technology environment for the new building.

Subcommittee for Exterior Elevations
Committee will work with a professional designer to develop the exterior elevations in a way that is consistent with New Life Church’s identity and that is sensitive to Austin’s culture.

Subcommittee for Interior Design
Committee will work with a professional designer who will help us shape walls, ceilings, and particularly focus on large spaces. Decorative themes, including lighting, finishes and textures, and furnishings will be coordinated throughout the building. The committee will overlap with architecture, electrical, sound, Sunday School and Children’s Ministry, and Youth Ministry.

Subcommittee for Kitchen
Committee will evaluate current uses of the kitchen and how a kitchen might be used in the future. According to these uses, recommendations will be made for equipment, kitchen layout for ease of use, food service lines, and any other concerns related to food service.

Subcommittee for Nursery
Committee will evaluate efficient ways to layout the nursery space giving special attention to schemes that will assist in caring for children at various ages. Safety is a primary concern.

Subcommittee for Platform Layout
Committee will focus on the layout of the platform from a functional perspective. The committee will look at band configurations, choir access, choir riser placement, and overall concerns which impact logistics of a worship service. The committee will interact with the Subcommittee for Audio, Video, and Stage Lighting as well as the Subcommittee for Interior Design.

Subcommittee for Sanctuary Layout and Seating
Committee will look at options for seating and layout for the sanctuary. The goal is to seat as many people as possible in a way that is suitable for Pentecostal worship and for the culture and demographic of New Life. The committee will attempt to balance maximizing seating capacity with economy, durability, maintenance, and practical concerns.

Committee will evaluate the campus and make recommendations for access control, surveillance, parking lot and basement security, overall building security and transporting money, and any other issues relating to safety.

Subcommittee for Sunday School and Children’s Ministry
Committee will evaluate long-term space needs, including changes to current procedures and ministry in order to facilitate growth. The committee will make recommendations about needed space, technology, and all needs pertaining to Sunday school and other children’s ministries. The committee will work with the Subcommittee for Interior Design and Subcommittee for Audio, Video, and Stage Lighting.

Committee will make recommendations for a telecommunications system.
